Pauline Family Get-Together – August 15, 2025
The Pauline Family in India came together on the evening of August 15, 2025, a day of double celebration—the Solemnity of the Assumption of Our Lady and India's Independence Day. The gathering began at 3:00 PM and concluded joyfully with a sumptuous dinner at 8:30 PM.
The event commenced with a prayer service, invoking God’s blessings on the Pauline Family. This was followed by a symposium on Pauline Spirituality, where members from the three Pauline congregations in India collaborated to present reflections on their shared charism and mission.
The symposium was structured around three themes:
1. Personal Encounter and Interior Transformation
Br. Arockiam (Society of St. Paul) and Sr. Priyanka (Pious Disciples of the Divine Master) shared their heartfelt experiences of how Pauline spirituality has led them into a deeper relationship with Jesus, the Divine Master.
- They spoke about the transforming power of the Word of God, which enlightens and guides daily decisions.
- Drawing inspiration from Alberione’s writings, they highlighted the stages of purification, illumination, and configuration with Christ, rooted in the Eucharist and the Cross.
- They emphasized that Pauline spirituality is a path of ongoing transformation, calling each member to live fully conformed to Christ, the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
2. Spiritual Growth in the Footsteps of Blessed Alberione
Sr. Antonette and Sr. Babiona reflected on the importance of prayer, Eucharistic Adoration, and devotion to Mary, Queen of Apostles in nurturing spiritual growth. They underlined Alberione’s example of perseverance, humility, and missionary zeal as vital inspirations for their own journey of holiness.
3. Witnessing and Promoting Pauline Spirituality Today
The third set of Paulines, Sr. Rosly and Fr. Joe Eruppakatt, shared personal experiences of their apostolic activities, illustrating how obedience to God's will elevated them to a higher level of dedication in their mission. They also spoke of the challenges and opportunities of living the Pauline charism in modern contexts such as digital media, pastoral ministry, and catechesis. They stressed the responsibility of the Pauline Family to proclaim Christ in contemporary culture with creativity and fidelity to Alberione’s vision.
After the spiritual enrichment of the symposium, the program moved into a lighter and joyful segment with a variety of entertaining games that encouraged active participation from members of all three congregations. Laughter, cheer, and family spirit filled the hall as brothers and sisters came together not just as collaborators in mission, but as one Pauline Family in joy and fellowship.
A highlight of the evening was the Pauline Anthem Competition, which witnessed enthusiastic and creative performances. The competition reflected both artistic expression and deep love for the Pauline charism. Sr. Salome (DSP) who was emerged as the winner for script writing, while Sr. Caroline (DSP) was recognized for setting the script to melodious music.
The prize was jointly presented by Fr. Joby Mathew, Provincial Superior of the Society of St. Paul (SSP), and Sr. Metilla, Provincial Superior of the Daughters of St. Paul (DSP). Adding to the joy, Sr. Caroline also taught the audience to sing the newly composed anthem, which was received with great enthusiasm.
The presence of the Provincials and their words of encouragement inspired everyone to carry forward the Pauline spirit with renewed energy.
The sharing of experiences, combined with moments of creativity, fellowship, and celebration, was marked by depth, authenticity, and joy, leaving the participants enriched and motivated to continue their journey of living and giving Jesus Master to the world.
