On 26 November 1988 began the Pauline presence in Pune in the State of Maharastra, about 190 kilometres from Mumbai, and Fr Vincent Gnarakatt and Fr Vincent Carmelbhavan were the pioneers. Today the community has its own house and a book centre on Matchwell Road outside the city, and another book centre on East Street in the city.

The majority of members in the community are our Juniors doing the Philosophy and the Theology courses in Jnana Deepa Vidyapeedh, the Pontifical Athenaeum run by the Jesuits at walking distance from the house. They conduct book exhibitions and other media programmes in and around Pune.
