All Souls Day Observed in Bengaluru Community

Bengaluru, November 2, 2024 – The community of St. Paul’s in Bengaluru came together on All Souls Day to commemorate and pray for departed souls with reverence and solemnity. The evening began with a gathering at the community cemetery at 6:30 PM, where the faithful recited the Holy Rosary, interceding for their departed loved ones.

The service was marked by deep devotion as Fr. Superior read aloud the names of the deceased family members of the community, ensuring their memory was honored in collective prayer.

Following the Rosary, the Holy Eucharist was celebrated by Fr. Devasia (Baji), who delivered a profound homily centered on the theme, “God’s desire for each one of us: to be saved.” He emphasized the importance of always being spiritually prepared, as the timing of the Lord’s call remains unknown. Fr. Baji also reflected on the community’s unique Apostolate and Mission, inspiring the congregation to live with purpose and faith.

After the Mass, Fr. Joseph T.C. conducted a special prayer over the tombs and blessed the cemetery, invoking God’s peace for the departed souls. The serene and prayerful ambiance left attendees moved and spiritually uplifted.

The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks from Fr. Dominic D’Silva, who expressed gratitude to Fr. Baji for his inspiring message and to the entire community for their fervent participation.

All Souls Day, a tradition rooted in remembering and praying for those who have passed on, was observed with unity and solemnity, reminding all present of the hope and promise of eternal life.
