Society of St Paul, Chennai celebrated the Silver Jubilee of Bro Jolly in a fitting and festive style on 29th June at Divine Mercy Church, Chennai. It was a day of Joy, set apart to thank Jesus and Jolly for their unflinching commitment to each other for 25 long Pauline years.
The Day began with a Concelebrated High Mass presided over by Fr Varghese, the Provincial of Society of St Paul, India-Nigeria-GB-Ireland. The presence of Fr A.M.A. Prabhakar, Rector of Shrine Basilica of our Lady of Velankanni brought joy to the Jubilarian and all those present. In his homily Fr Varghese posed Bro Jolly with four important challenges as he enters into another era of his religious commitment.
1. Are you weak enough to experience the power of God?
2. Are you broken enough experience the struggles and sufferings of people?
3. Are you Afraid enough of Sin so as to avoid sin and lead a holy life?
4. Are you happy enough to reflect Joy and Peace of Christ?
Several invitees and well-wishers congratulated Bro Jolly during the short felicitation programme which followed the Eucharist. On the occasion, Fr A.M.A. Prabhakar, the chief guest, thanked Bro Jolly for the generous and committed Service that he rendered to the Velankanni Shrine Book Centre for past 3 years. He said, “We want Bro Jolly to run the book centre…”. Fr George, the Superior beautifully arrayed the religious timeline of Bro Jolly in the past 25 years.
