On the thirtieth year of its publication the revised edition of Paadu Maname, famous Tamil liturgical hymn book was released in the Santhome Cathedral by the Archbishop of Madras – Mylapore Rev. Archbishop George Anthonysamy on Saturday 21 September 2024. This event also coincided with the occasion of the Nineteenth Episcopal Ordination of Rev. Archbishop George Anthonysamy.
Paadu Maname is a popular Tamil Liturgical hymn book published by the Nallayan Pathippagam (A division of St Pauls Publication in Tamil), Chennai. This hymnal is used in many Parishes in Tamilnadu particularly in the Archdiocese of Madras – Mylapore. Fr Michael John spearheaded the project of giving a new look to this hymnal after taking charge as the director of Nallayan Pathippagam.
In the jubilee edition of the hymnal two hundred new songs were added with the existing songs. On this joyous occasion, Rev. Archbishop appreciated the efforts taken by the members of the Society of St Paul in helping the faithful to participate in the liturgical activities in a meaningful manner.
We congratulate the editorial team of Nallayan Pathippagam on bringing out the revised edition of Paadu Maname.
