On 15 August 2024 the Feast of the Assumption of Mary together with 78th Independence Day of India was celebrated in the community of Ranchi. Over 130 faithful joined for the community Mass at 6.30 presided over by Father Prabhat Kujur. He exhorted the faithful to live in freedom as the double celebration pointed to it: the Feast of the Assumption of Mary reminded us of freedom from the bondage of sin, while Independence Day represented our political freedom.
After the Mass and the flag hoisting ceremony the president of St. Paul’s Unit organized a football match at St. Paul’s Playground. It was a friendly but competitive match between the Ranchi St. Paul’s community and the youth of St. Paul’s Unit.
The celebration of this special day ended with the prize distribution to both the winning team as well as the runners-up.
