Our students on a Plantation Drive

The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of St Pauls College for women had participated in a Tree Plantation Drive organized by the University of Mumbai on Wednesday 26 June 2024 in the Mumbai University Kalina campus. This event was aimed at promoting environmental awareness and contributing  to the greening of our campus. The tree plantation drive was graced by the esteemed presence of the Vice Chancellor of Mumbai University, Dr Ravindra D. Kulkarni.

The Participants of this event were divided into groups and each group was assigned a specific area for plantation. Saplings of various indigenous species were provided for plantation. The  volunteers planted the trees under the guidance of faculty members and NSS coordinators.

After the plantation activity, an awareness session on the need to protect the natural environment was organized by the Mumbai University. Ms Rashmi Joshi, an environmentalist, spoke about the benefits of trees, the importance of biodiversity, and the ways to protect the environment.

At the end of the plantation activity our students were enriched with knowledge about the natural environment and the ways and methods to protect it.
