In a ceremony held on 10 June the Bangalore community of the Society of St Paul witnessed the installation of their new superior, F. Dominic D'Silva. The installation ceremony, a symbolic transfer of responsibility, took place during a special 6 pm Holy Mass presided over by Fr Joby Mathew, the Provincial.
During the Mass, Fr Devasia, the acting superior, presented the key of the tabernacle to Fr Dominic, signifying the official handover of leadership. All the priests and other members of the community offered and promised their support by extending their hands in a gesture of unity, followed by a prayer of blessing for the new superior.
Following the Eucharistic celebration, a community meeting elected Fr Thomas MJ and Fr Devasia as members of the local council to assist Fr Dominic in leading the community. The joyous occasion concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony to celebrate Fr Dominic's appointment.
This marks a new chapter for the Bangalore community as they welcome Fr Dominic and his leadership.
