The Pauline Family in Mumbai gathered together in the our community Chapel at 6.15 pm on Friday, 19th April to pay our respectful homage and loving tribute to Fr Paul Vechoor who returned to our ‘Father’s House’ on 14th April 2024 at the age of 89.
The memorial mass was presided over by Fr Joby Mathew, Provincial Superior. At the introduction for the mass Fr Joby shared with the Eucharistic assembly how gracefully Fr Paul had prepared himself for his encounter with the Risen Lord. Fr Johny Panamthanam, Superior of the community, recalled the great contribution that Fr Paul has made to the Pauline Family and especially to our Province as one who closely collaborated with our pioneering and founding Italian confreres in nurturing the growth of the Province as a well-established Province of the Congregation.
With great love and dedication, zeal and enthusiasm, he served as the General Councillor, and as the Provincial Superior, Superior of different communities, formator of different groups at various stages of formation and a confessor and spiritual director for innumerable faithful. Undoubtedly Fr Paul will be remembered by all those who have known him and have associated with him as a very loving and affectionate, highly spiritual and deeply human person.
May he experience and enjoy the fullness of life in our ‘Father’s House’.
