An international Conference on the theme Algorithmic Futures, Reimagining Media and Society, was organized by The School of Media Technology and Communication, Vel Tech Deemed to be University, Chennai, on 25-26 March 2024. Fr (Dr.) Plavendran Irudayasamy, Principal of St Pauls College for Women, Bandra, was invited to deliver the inaugural address. A well prepared address which lasted about forty minutes on the theme “Explorations in Algorithmic Environment: Understanding the Interface between Media and the Computing Tools” was highly appreciated by the audience consisting of distinguished professors from various universities from India and abroad, academicians, research scholars, etc.
Besides, Fr Plavendran moderated the First Session of the research paper presentation. The six selected research papers were presented by the research scholars on various themes ranging from film criticism to Virtual Reality, to Information systems to use of payment applications, etc. The management of the University has expressed its desire to conduct a few students-and-faculty exchange programmes between St Pauls College and Vel Tech Deemed to be University. It was indeed a very proud moment for Fr Plavendran and St Pauls College for women, Bandra. Congratulations Fr Plavrendran!
