“A Bible for Every Home” – Second Phase Launched

Eluru : “A Bible for Every Home” campaign, was initially launched in last November as part of the celebration of the 50th Death Anniversary of our Founder, with the target of providing Telugu Bibles to 1000 Families in ten parishes, in one year. However, the campaign crossed the target ahead of time reaching 2500 families in 15 parishes, exhausting the entire copies available with the publishers, the regional Commission for Bible. A new edition was published three/four months later, but at double the price of the previous one (@Rs 520/- instead of Rs 250/-). The Paulines in Eluru (Subodha Nilayam) took this as a challenge, and decided to continue to make the Telugu Bible available to families at half the selling price in spite of the present price rise.
The Feast of the Founder was celebrated on 25 November, and the presence of many of our friends came in making it a golden opportunity to re-launch the campaign. Most Rev. Bonivento Cesare, PIME, Bishop Emeritus of Papua New Guinea, launched the second phase by symbolically giving the Bibles to Ms Kakarla Jyothi, a teacher, and Mr Kutumba Rao, a senior catechist.
