Bandra : ‘Eat healthy and stay healthy’ seems to be the driving force that has transformed the terrace of our Provincial House into an evergreen vegetable garden. The variety of lush green vegetables, such as long beans, cucumber, ladies finger, Brinjal, Ivy gourd (Kovakka), and Bitter gourd, has become the pride of the owner and the envy of our neighbours. Fr. Sebastian Elavunkel, with his passion and creativity for pollution-free air, green earth, and fresh vegetables, has spared no effort to provide the required basic structure like pandals, grow bags, and pots to grow these vegetables and the yield has been incredibly abundant. It is no exaggeration that the provincial house community has never visited the city vegetable markets for several months. For our domestic staff, Ms Nouyita Goyari and Ms Elizabeth Basumatar, it has become a habit every morning after breakfast to collect fresh vegetables for the day from our own terrace!
