Book Launch

London : On Thursday 19th October, there was a delightful lunchtime book launch at St Pauls London, when the new title was a thorough and detailed autobiography (part-manifesto) by a Catholic nurse Teresa Lynch: The Good Samaritan Nurse In A Secular Age. Teresa spoke quietly and movingly about the struggles faced by believers in the hospital environment in the modern age, telling of how so many enter nursing as a profession for altruistic and vocational reasons, only to come under immense peer pressure to conform to, sometimes unevidenced and even uncaring, secular norms, and abandon one's conscience, or else be branded a poor team member. The need for such a book was evident not only from the large numbers of believers who are in just that situation and could be helped by it, but also from the way attendees spoke of its potential to be used as a textbook and witness statement in universities and medical schools. We are always extremely pleased when such excellent ministries can use St Pauls as a resource for their events and for publicising their work. This event was one such example, and we hope that St Pauls can continue to be a meeting point for many believers to meet together and encourage one another in their work.
