HEALTH SEMINAR

Father John Gilbert was invited to give a two-day Health seminar for the Sisters of Charity of Saint Anne; one at Pillar Health Centre in Andaman Nicobar Islands and another at Saint Luke’s Hospital, Shrirampur, Ahmednagar. Doctors, nurses and all the sisters involved in the health ministry, from different states of India, which formed two provinces, attended the Health Seminar. There were 51 participants in the seminar held at Saint Luke’s Hospital, Shrirampur, Ahmednagar, on 10 and 11 March 2018. The topics dealt with in the seminar include: Compassionate Care, Affordable Care, Rational and Quality Care, Caring for the Care Giver, End of Life Care and Life in its fullness. Spiritual aspects were incorporated into the topics to make it more reflective and help the participants to introspect the care they provided for their patients. Group discussions and sharing enriched the proceedings. In their feedback the participants shared that the seminar equipped them with due insight as to the kind of care to be given to their patients and to a sense of commitment to their mission.
