New Delhi World Book Fair

The New Delhi World Book Fair (NDWBF), has emerged as one of the most significant events in the publishing world, is held this year in the Capital during 6-14 January, 2018, at Pragati Maidan. The fair, organised by National Book Trust, India, promotes titles, trade, co-publication of titles and – above all – the habit of reading. The fair serves as a meeting point for readers and publishers. Started in 1972 with 200 participants, the event has grown exponentially and had 956 participants this year including major publishers from 35 countries. Considering the ramifications of climate change and in a bid to promote the same, this year the theme of the event is “Environment & Climate Change”. Anyone who walks into the fair will certainly find places like, Authors corner, Seminar halls, Event halls, Exhibition halls, Children’s pavilion, book stalls of your taste and language, Food corner, Sit-Chat corner, well decorated halls and roads etc. After two years of break, this year Better Yourself Books, in collaboration with St Paul International Book Center, Delhi participated in the Book Fair. Fr Joby Mathew, Fr Shinto Devasia, Fr Maria Das along with Fr Sebastian Elavunkal, DGA had taken much trouble to make our presence felt in the Fair. The Paulines who participated in the fair are extremely happy with the number of peoples visited our stall. Unlike the past, this year there was a better demand for our Hindi Titles. One of the visitors Mr Raveendra Singh, a retired army officer looking at our brand name said, “Better Yourself Books have created tremendous change in my life. BYB books are real solid food. Each day of my life, I eat BYB books, I sleep over BYB books and I grow gracefully with the help of BYB books”. We sincerely thank Fr Joby Mathew, and the entire team for making the necessary arrangements and participating in the book fair. We also appreciate the commendable involvement and support of the local community in New Delhi led by Fr Paul Kottackal, the Superior and all the members of the community.
