NATIONAL CONFERENCE

Fr Prithvi Raj Philip, Director of SPICE and St Pauls College, Bangalore, attended a two-days National Conference and Annual General Body Meeting organized by Xavier Board of Higher Education in India (XBHEI) held on 9th and 10th September 2017 at Don Bosco Provincial House, Hyderabad. XBHEI is the only association of all the Catholic Institutions of Higher Education in India. It is officially recognized by the Catholic Bishop’s Conference of India (CBCI) and functions in collaboration with the CBCI Commission for Education and Culture. It is the Indian organ to represent the International Federation of Catholic Universities (IFCU / FIUC) with headquarters in Paris. The theme for the National Conference was ‘Current Political and Economic Situation in India and its Impact on Higher Education’. The XBHEI had invited eminent and veterans from the field of education to address the gathering on varies topics: ‘Current Political Situation in the Country and its Impact on Higher Education’, ‘Current Economic Situation in the Country and its Impact on Higher Education’, ‘Networking among the Higher Education Institutions Accreditation’ and other important issues relating to education in the country were addressed. Fr Prithvi Raj also visited film Institutes like the Glitters Film & Media Academy and FTih.  He discussed with directors of these institutes the possibility of sharing resource persons, internships and placements.
