I believe that we all had a refreshing and relaxing holiday. After this short but deserving break, we are ready to begin the year with renewed vigour and enthusiasm. May I invite everyone to begin this year with GRATITUDE in our hearts—gratitude to God for the Pauline Vocation to serve God and God’s people through the means of communication; gratitude to God for the person of Blessed James Alberione who transmitted the specific charism to us; gratitude to God for enabling us to carry out this noble mission at the service of the Church.
Blessed Alberione expects his spiritual children to be responsible, committed and accountable for the task entrusted to them, and to do the task with all the perfection possible in the given situation. He also used to remind his spiritual children that their apostolate is pastoral in nature and this pastoral character and commitment should be manifested in their ‘specific apostolate’.
Hence reminding ourselves that we carry out an APOSTOLATE, let us assume the same disposition of St Paul who said, “Woe to me if I do not preach the Gospel for I am bound to do it” (cf. 1Cor 9:16), and let us, after the example of our blessed Founder, focus ourselves to carry out the specific task entrusted to us. May God bless us! --Devasia Puthiyaparambil
