Jesus lived a life of love and service. He promoted a new way of life characterized by equality, justice and charity. In this new way of life, he gave more importance to life of love than the strict and blind observance of the law. There were individuals and groups who found in Jesus and in his teaching a threat to their ideology and their identity. Overcome with jealousy and fear, they put Jesus to a humiliating death—a death on a cross. But God raised him from death.
The resurrection confirms that there is no obstacle in life which cannot be overcome with the help of God; the resurrection reveals that there is no desperation in life which cannot be transformed into trust; the rising of Jesus from death fills us with the hope that life does not end with our physical death. Hence, one of the important messages that the resurrection of Jesus offers us is to transcend our limitations, weakness, timidity, laziness, etc. When we do that, resurrection becomes a reality in our life in the present.
The Apostolate of social communication is not only God’s gift to us but also a challenge that makes us to strain ahead (cf. Phil 3:13). When we use our creativity and talents to face the challenge in the areas of our apostolate, we experience the power of the resurrection. We experience the power of the resurrection each time we seek to carry out our apostolate as consecrated persons living in unity and relationship. The power of resurrection is experienced when we accept willingly the God-given tasks and bring it to completion. We must then strive to experience the power of resurrection in our lives and we should also become agents of resurrection in the lives of others.
May the risen Lord help us to overcome our difficulties, timidity, our lukewarm spirit and all that blocks us from being vibrant apostles of media communication, and may we experience the power of resurrection always in our lives. HAPPY EASTER!
