"Those who say nobody reads books are simply people who do not like to read books. They spread this false rumour. The reality is those who love books continue to read good books, despite the onslaught of digital media" said Bishop Dr Varghese Chakkalakal, Bishop of Kozhikode. He was speaking at the blessing and inauguration of the newly renovated ST PAUL BOOK & ART CENTRE, KOZHIKODE on Monday 10 June 2019 at 10 am. Bishop Chakkalakkal was all praise for the media mission of the Society of St Paul and the Pauline Family in General. He exhorted those present to read books, get inspired and inspire others. He said that as a young priest he used to frequent the store and felt very happy to bless the new look store after 32 long years of our presence in Kozhikode. He felt that the new look store will encourage more and more people to frequent the store and make the best use of the services available.

Despite the morning rain a good number of our patrons including Msgr (Dr) Thomas Panackkal, Vicar General of the Diocese of Kozhikode, a number of Provincial Superiors from different religious congregations in Kozhikode attended the function. Everyone was extremely pleased with the look and feel of the entire store.

The renovation and upgrading of the book store in Kozhikode was a project taken up under the leadership of Fr Felix V, the Director of the store and was completed in record 45 days. Fr Sebastian Thomas (Director General of Apostolate) and Fr Joby Mathew (Director, Marketing & Publicity) coordinated the final look and feel of the store as well as its immediate promotion and publicity before the inauguration. We congratulate Fr Felix, Br Anthony, Fr Pius and their dedicated team of staff at the store for patiently carrying out the renovation work while continuing to keep the store open for our patrons.
